I was at a party with a group of women last night, each sharing their stories about health insurance. We were perplexed about why health care reform is considered controversial, since everyone of us has faced an insurance problem over the past year. Some in our group were health care providers who shared horror stories of patients, and the rest of us were on the consumer side. If these problems are so widespread, why can't the dialogue be more productive? We need to convince folks on both sides of the poitical spectum of the real need among people in all walks of life for some kind of universal health care. Can women talking to women about this create the groundswell we need? Let's hope so!

This looks like a great site. Are you going to weigh in on the proposed health care reform plan? How can we make sure that more women get the health care and coverage they and their kids need? We have to work for each other--because we "get it!" And are you going to work with Michelle on her obesity-reduction initiative? Let's get to it!
